Coronavirus: Three new cases bring total to 705

Three more persons in Sri Lanka have been tested positive with the COVID-19 virus, said the Ministry of Health.

Thereby, the total number of coronavirus cases reported from Sri Lanka climbs to 705.

According to the Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, 12 out of the latest 15 COVID-19 detections are Navy personnel. The remaining 3 patients are those have had close contact with the Navy personnel, said Dr. Jasinghe.

Meanwhile, as per the tally of Epidemiology Unit, 526 active cases are currently under medical care at the IDH Hospital, Welikanda Base Hospital, Colombo East Base Hospital, Iranawila Hospital, Kattankudy Base Hospital, Navy Hospital, and Homagama Base Hospital.

Meanwhile, 172 patients have been discharged from the hospital upon complete recovery from the virus.

Seven COVID- 19 patients in the country have succumbed to the virus.
