Department of Immigration and Emigration will be recommencing its operations from the 11th of May, in line with the government’s decision to resume day-to-day activities in Government Institutions from the said date.

Accordingly, the Department will be opened for selected services on all working days except public holidays, stated the Department issuing a press release.

The general public who receive the services must follow the health and other regulations taken from time to time in view of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, notified the Department.

A client who wishes to obtain a service should book a date and time using the indicated procedure; if the client does not arrive at the reserved time, the reservation will be canceled.

The Department further states that when the client arrives at the Department to obtain the service they should bring the identification number/acknowledgment provided in the reservation of date and time and it should be submitted to the security personnel on arrival.

Further, information for obtaining services should be collected by visiting the website of the Department, http://www.immigration.gov.lk/, and clients should bring all the necessary documents to obtain the services, stated the Department.
