Ongoing curfew in Colombo and Gampaha districts will continue until further notice, says the President’s Media Division (PMD).

In other districts, the curfew will be effective between 8.00 pm and 5.00 am daily, until Saturday (May 16).

Thereby, a countrywide curfew will go into effect on Sunday (May 17), the PMD’s release read further.

On May 18, the curfew for all districts, except for Colombo and Gampaha, will be eased from 5.00 am to 8.00 pm. This curfew relaxation will continue until Saturday (May 23).

The mechanism to restore normalcy in the civilian life and institutions in Colombo and Gampaha districts while curfew is in force, which commenced on May 11, will go on until this Saturday (16). It will resume from May 18, the PMD noted.

Conditions included in previous announcements regarding the resumption of normal life will remain unchanged, the PMD continued.
