Eight of yesterday’s Covid-19 cases are navy personnel

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva says that of the 10 positive cases of Covid-19 identified yesterday, 8 are navy personnel.

The other two cases are relatives of navy personnel, he said speaking during the ‘Derana Aruna’ programme this morning (15).

The total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus reported in Sri Lanka rose to 925 as of 10.30 p.m. last night and accordingly 471 active cases are currently under medical care.

The number of recoveries has increased to 445 while the death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka is 09.

A total of 480 navy personnel have tested positive for the virus so far while 11 other security forces personnel have also tested positive for Covid-19.

Confirmed cases of Coronavirus have presently been reported from 18 districts in the country while the highest number of cases have been identified from Colombo District (150).
