An island-wide curfew will be in force on the 24th and 25th of May, says the President’s Media Division (PMD).

The ongoing curfew in Colombo and Gampaha districts will be in effect until further notice, the PMD’s updated announcement on the curfew read further.

Curfew for other 23 districts, which will come into force at 8.00 pm tomorrow (23), will be eased at 5.00 am on May 26.

From May 26 onward, the curfew in these districts will be relaxed between 5.00 am and 8.00 pm daily, until further notice.

The mechanism to restore normalcy in the civilian life and institutions in Colombo and Gampaha districts while curfew is in force, will be operative tomorrow (23) and it will resume from May 26 after the two-day countrywide curfew, the PMD noted.

Conditions included in previous announcements regarding the resumption of normal life will remain unchanged.
