COVID-19: Sixteen new recoveries move total to 620

Sixteen more patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 virus in Sri Lanka have been discharged as they have returned to health, says the Ministry of Health.

The country’s coronavirus recoveries tally hence reached 620.

New recoveries are reported from Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Welikanda Base Hospital, Navy Hospital and Colombo East Base Hospital.

Sri Lanka has detected a total of 1,055 positive cases of COVID-19 so far and out of this total 596 were found from Sri Lanka Navy.

According to the tally of Epidemiology Unit, 426 active cases are under medical care at IDH, Welikanda Base Hospital, Navy Hospital, Colombo East Base Hospital, Iranawila Hospital, Kattankudy Base Hospital, Homagama Base Hospital and Minuwangoda Base Hospital.

In the meantime, 110 suspected coronavirus cases are currently under observation.

The death toll in Sri Lanka due to coronavirus stands at 9.
