Nineteen Navymen among coronavirus detections yesterday

Twenty-one novel coronavirus positive cases have been identified in total yesterday (23).

Among the identified cases, 19 patients are Sri Lanka Navy personnel, stated the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

The remaining two patients are persons who had returned to the country from Dubai.

The total number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka is at 1,089.

Currently, 420 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the country, as per the Epidemiology Unit.

Meanwhile, 660 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital upon complete recovery from the illness.

Sri Lanka has recorded nine fatalities from the virus.
