Covid-19 infections confirmed in Sri Lanka move to 1,877

Covid-19 infections confirmed in Sri Lanka reached 1,877 following the detection of another virus-positive patient last night (11).

Accordingly, a total of 8 fresh Covid-19 cases have been detected yesterday.  All of them are navy men at quarantine centres in Iyakachchi (04), Mullaitivu (03) and Vidaththatpalai (01).

Meanwhile, the recoveries tally hit 1,150 as 28 more persons who had contracted the virus recovered from the disease yesterday. They were receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (07), Welikanda Base Hospital (10), Iranawila Hospital (01), Kattankudy Base Hospital (01), Welisara Navy Hospital (06), Homagama Base Hospital (02) and Minuwangoda Base Hospital (01).
 
The Epidemiology Unit’s tally reads that 716 active cases are currently under medical care.

Sri Lanka has confirmed 11 deaths due to the COVID-19.
