Fourth year exams of all universities to commence from June 22

The examinations of 4th-year students of all universities will commence from the 22nd of June, says the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Its Chairman Mr. Sampath Amaratunge announced this during a media briefing held at the UGC premises today (13).

The faculties of Arts, Science, Law and Education at the University of Colombo will be reopened for exams on June 29, he said.

Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya will be reopened on June 28, meanwhile, the exams of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura will continue from August 04.

Likewise, other faculties will also be reopened for exams after June 22, however, all universities are expected to conclude the exams by August 15, the UGC chairman explained.

The final year examinations of all medical faculties will begin from June 15 as scheduled, Mr. Amaratunge said further.

Assigning seats for written exams and the number of students taking part in a practical test will be determined according to the health regulations.

For the time being, one room will be allocated to each student, when providing hostel facilities for those who are sitting for the exams, the UGC chairman said.

He also noted that until further notice, students will not be permitted to remain inside university premises after 7.30pm.

Assembles of any sort within or outside the university premises, entertainment or sports activities will also be prohibited until further notice, he said further.
