Leader of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Rauff Hakeem says that his party has no connection with the ringleader of the Easter attacks Zahran Hashim and his team.

Addressing a public meeting held in Pilimathalawa, Hakeem stated that the Muslim community faced many issues following the Easter attacks.

Further speaking, he said that the charges against his party are mere ploys to win the election.

Claiming that they were not aware of such an organization within the community, Hakeem points out that continuous propaganda of this kind inconveniences the Muslim community.

He says that a ‘knife’ couldn’t be found in a Muslim household even for a necessity.

Hakeem further said that his party will not back down even if they blame him for this statement.
