Printing ballot papers for 05 districts concludes

Ballot papers of five districts for the General Election 2020 have been printed and handed over to the Elections Commission, stated the Department of Government Printing.

Government Printer Gangani Liyanage stated that ballot papers of 04 more districts will be forwarded to the Commission within 02 days.

So far, the ballot papers of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Matale, Jaffna, and Kilinochchi districts have been submitted to the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the members of the Election Commission will convene today (16) for the first time since the declaration of the General Election 2020 to be held on August 05.

Reportedly, the aim of the meeting will be to decide on the dates for postal voting and to discuss the progress of mock elections held during the past several days.
