The politburo of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) has appointed Jeevan Thondaman as the General Secretary of the party.

Jeevan Thondaman is the son of late CWC Leader and Minister of Community Empowerment and Estate Infrastructure Development Arumugam Thondaman.

The unanimous decision was reached during a meeting of CWC politburo held at the party headquarters in Kotagala, Hatton today (17).

It was also decided to bestow the vice chairmanship of CWC to Anusha Sivarajah, who hitherto served as the party’s General Secretary.

The CWC is yet to appoint a party leader to fill the position left vacant following the demise of Arumugam Thondaman.
