Two Bangladesh arrivals hike COVID-19 case count

Two more coronavirus-positive patients have hiked the total number of cases reported in the country to 2,039, according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

Both new cases have been detected among recent arrivals from Bangladesh, confirmed the Ministry.

Currently, 350 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island.

With 17 more patients regaining health and being discharged today (29), the number of recoveries in the island has moved to 1,678 cases.

Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 deaths due to the coronavirus thus far.
