More Sri Lankans return from Malaysia

Another batch of 150 Sri Lankan nationals, who were stranded in Malaysia due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, returned to the island today (30).

The SriLankan Airlines charter flight UL 319 arriving from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia reached the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at around 8.52 am this morning.

Reportedly, students and migrants workers had been among the returning passengers.

Upon arrival, they had been subjected to PCR tests at the airport premises and temporarily stationed at hotels nearby BIA until the results are released.
