1,662 arrested within 24 hours in Western Province

A total of 1,662 individuals have been arrested over various offences and charges including those with pending warrants, during a special police operation during the last 24 hours within the Western Province.

Police said that the arrested suspects include 748 apprehended over drug offences, 696 persons arrested over pending warrants against them, and another 91 arrested over other criminal charges.

Further, 127 have been arrested in suspicion of connections to criminal activity, stated the Office of the Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province.

Along with the suspects, the police have seized 250 grams of heroin, 11 grams of Ice (Methamphetamine), 03 kilograms of cannabis, and 1,200 kilograms of unidentified narcotic drugs.
