Two wards at Horana Hospital closed off following Covid-19 infections

Ward 5 and 9 of Horana Base Hospital have been closed off due to Covid-19 risks.

The move came after it was revealed that two nurses of the hospital were tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

According to reports, the husband of one of the two nurses, employed at the Brandix apparel factory in Minuwangoda, as well as another family member had contracted the virus.

The virus-infected nurses and family members have been admitted to the Dr Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital and Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH).

In the meantime, a member of the minor staff of the Gampaha Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19. The individual in question is reportedly a resident of Minuwangoda area.
