Zoos closed until further notice

Considering the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the country, all zoological gardens are directed to remain closed until further notice.

The State Minister of Wildlife Conservation Protection Programmes including Electric Fence and Ditch Construction and Re-Forestation and Wildlife Resources Development, Wimalaweera Dissanayake, stated that he instructed the Director-General was instructed on the decision.

Accordingly, this measure will be in effect from today (17).

In addition, steps have been taken to limit the entrance to national parks, as well.
