Examiner arrested for assisting A/L candidate with answers

An exam hall inspector at the 2020 G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination has been arrested for fraudulently assisting a candidate to answer the question paper.

Reportedly, the examiner at the Wadduwa Central College exam center had assisted in answering the paper for the subject of Engineering Technology held yesterday (16).

The Additional Head of the Examination Hall had alerted the Police on the matter, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Subsequently, the arrested teacher had been produced in court today (17), on the recommendation of the Commissioner-General of Examinations.

The police stated that action would be taken against the candidate with in consultation with the Commissioner-General of Examinations.
