Non-programmable calculators are allowed to be used for the subject of accounting at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination from this year onward, says the Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha.

The second paper of Accounting is scheduled to be held tomorrow morning (13).

The Advanced Level commenced on the 12th of October amidst the outbreak of Covid-19 infections and it is set to come to and on the 6th of November.

Any inquiries on permitting candidates to use non-programmable calculators can be made from the Examinations Department, the exams chief said further.

Speaking further, he said 638 exam centres are operative in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts where quarantine curfew is currently effective.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and Sri Lanka Railways have made arrangements to transport candidates to their respective exam centres safely, he added.

Further, he urged the parents to be mindful of sending their children to exam centres well in advance of the commencement of the exam.

He also said paper marking of 2020 Grade 5 Scholarship exam papers took place at 391 centres across the island, except in Kuliyapitiya and Gampaha, from October 11 – 30.
