Anamaduwa Traffic OIC killed in road accident

The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Traffic Division at Anamaduwa Police has been killed in a road accident, the Police said.

Reportedly, the OIC had been traveling with another police officer when he had lost control of his vehicle and collided with the Anamaduwa clock tower at midnight yesterday (04).

The Police said that the accident had taken place while pursuing a vehicle transporting cattle on a tip-off received by the police.

The deceased Traffic OIC is a 38-year-old Sub Inspector (SI) named Ratnayake Mudiyanselage Ajith Hemantha Ratnayake from the Nikaweratiya area.

The other officer who had been traveling with him has been admitted to the Anamaduwa Hospital over injuries.
