Manning Market closed until further notice

November 9, 2020   07:26 pm

The reopening of the Manning Market, which was scheduled for today (November 09), has been postponed indefinitely.

Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said that this was due to many laborers (nattamis) testing COVID-19 positive following PCR testing.

“Therefore, the health authorities did not allow the vendors or the stakeholders of the Manning Market to open the market today.”

He added that the police, health authorities, intelligence units are looking ascertaining the situation with regard to the patients, and close contacts of the infected.

The Manning Market will be reopened in due course on the recommendation of the health authorities, he further said.
