Special notice for residents of urban flats within CMC limits

The Director-General of Health Services, Dr Asela Gunawardhane has issued a special notice to the residents under quarantine at the urban flats within the administrative limits of Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).
The notice reads that people with chronic illnesses such as diabetes high blood pressure, heart diseases, epilepsy, wheezing, high blood cholesterol, kidney ailments or cancers are at high risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus and experiencing complications due to infection.
Hence, it is important to continue taking the usual medications to avoid the risk of contracting the novel coronavirus, Dr Gunawardhane said further.
Thereby, the residents of Muwadora Uyana, Sirimuthu Uyana, Sirisanda Sevana, Randiya Uyana, Methsada Sevana, Minijaya Sevana, Ranmit Sevana, Sathhiru Sevana and N. H.S the Apartment who are under isolation and suffering from chronic non-communicable diseases are urged to inform the police officer or an official from the Urban Development Authority (UDB) in charge of their respective floor of the apartment complex of their prescriptions.
The patients must provide their name, age, address and the dispensary or the hospital they purchase their prescriptions from, to the relevant police officer or the UDA official to ensure that they are receiving their monthly prescription without fail.
The residents are advised not to leave their households as their medications are expected to be delivered to them.
Further, they are instructed to contact the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) or the Public Health Inspector (PHI) attached to their respective area, if they develop symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, shortness of breath or chest pain.
