Advisory issued for thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning

The Department of Meteorology has warned of thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning in several parts of the island this evening (20).
Accordingly, Gampaha, Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Ratnapura and Kegalle districts are expected to be affected by this weather condition.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, the advisory read further.
The general public has been urged to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
