Unidentified woman’s body found in suitcase at Dam Street

An unidentified body has been discovered stuffed inside a suitcase which had been abandoned at Dam Street in Colombo.

Police said that the decapitated body of a female has been found inside the suitcase and that the deceased has not been identified as of yet.

The suitcase had been found in the roadside at Dam Street in Pettah. 

Meanwhile footage of the suspect who had brought the suitcase to that location has been caught in a nearby CCTV camera.

It shows the suspect, wearing a face mask, dragging the suitcase along the road before leaving it in the roadside and then leaving. 

Police are conducting further investigations.
