Assassination attempt on Mangala: Hard labour for two in prison
Two persons found guilty of providing information to the Liberations Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in its attempt to assassinate Sri Lanka Freedom Party (Mahajana Wing) convenor Mangala Samaraweera were sentenced to 11 years hard labour in prison. READ MORE....

Such a shame they were not arrested after the event. Would have saved the nation a lot of grief. Then again we would not get the comedy that was "lankadissent.lk" and "lankanewsweb.com"

Why did LTTE tried to kill one of their biggest supporters? was it to blame on Rajapakses and create serious problems for the government.

11 years hard labor is enough for these two Tamil supporters. They should have been hanged or give life term hard labour.If they had done something to eliminate Tamils from Sri Lanka we can award them. Moreover Mangala Samaraweera is a sinhalese and he is our man with different political view.

Why the hell would the LTTE want to kill their buddy who is doing all the work for them. Even now he is trying to show the west that SL is a failed state. Anyone with brains can understand from his statements in the Parliment.
