What is the hurry to hold elections before New Year? - Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa question the government whether the attempt to dissolve the parliament before the due time a result of the inability to provide reliefs for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
According to the Leader of the Opposition, there are reports of the government attempting to dissolve the parliament before the due date.
Asking what the hurry is to hold the election before the New Year, Premadasa said this decision is taken as the government is unable to provide relief to the people for the New Year.
He expressed these views addressing a public meeting in Ja-Ela, yesterday (08).
He further said that a two-thirds parliamentary majority is needed to dissolve the parliament before the due time.
