Passenger boat service launched from Wellawatte to Diyatha Uyana

A passenger boat system operating from Wellawatte to Diyatha Uyana in Battamulla was launched this morning (11).
The boat service is launched as a solution for the heavy traffic congestion in the city, stated Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Water Resources Priyathbandu Wickrama.
Reportedly, boat service is operated by a private company affiliated with the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation.
The passenger boats will be in operation every 30 minutes from Wellawatta between 6.30 am to 12 noon and 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
The public can reach Diyatha Uyana from Wellawatte in 20 minutes through this service.
