SLFP to contest four districts alone in General Election

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will contest several districts alone at the upcoming General Election, SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said.
He stated that the SLFP will contest Nuwara Eliya, Kalutara, Vanni and Jaffna districts alone.
Jayasekara stated that a final decision on this matter would be taken at the SLFP central committee meeting this evening.
The SLFP had formed an alliance with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to contest the parliamentary polls as the “Sri Lanka Nidahas Podujana Sandanaya” under the symbol of the ‘flower bud’.
The General Election 2020 is scheduled to be held on the 25th of April.
