Anura Kumara signs nomination papers to contest polls

Leader of the ‘Jathika Jana Balawegaya’ (National People’s Power) Anura Kumara Dissanayake today signed nomination papers to contest the forthcoming General Election from the Colombo District.
He signed the nominations papers at the headquarters of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) in Pelawatta today (16).
Several other representatives of the party also signed nominations papers at the ceremony, which was also attended by JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva.
Speaking to reporters following the event, the party stated that they will complete the signing og nominations for all districts by the time other parties fight over symbols.
The party also said that it has temporarily halted election campaigning activities due to the spread of Coronavirus and that a decision was taken not to organize any gatherings.
