One day service for NICs temporarily halted

The Department for Registration of Persons has decided to temporarily suspend the issuing of National Identity Cards (NICs) under the One Day Service at its main office and at the Southern Province Provincial Office.

Accordingly the One Day Service has been suspended from tomorrow (17) until further notice, considering the current situation in the country and concerns over the spread of Coronavirus. 

However, the department said that applications to obtain NICs under the normal service can be submitted through the usual process.
