Shanaka stars as Sri Lanka post 160/6 in must win encounter against Pakistan

Skipper Dasun Shanaka spearheaded to help Sri Lanka post 160/6 against Pakistan in the rain curtailed third and final T20I of the series at the Ranger Dambulla International Stadium.

After heavy rains reduced the game to a 12-over contest, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and sent Sri Lanka to bat first.

Opener Pathum Nissanka failed to trouble the scorers but the rest of the top order managed to use the long handle to good use against the Pakistani batters.

Captain Shanaka top scored for Sri Lanka with a nine-ball 34.

Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka and Kamil Mishara also played their part in taking Sri Lanka to a respectable total.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim finished with figures of 54/3.

Sri Lanka trail the series 0-1 after losing to Pakistan in the opening game of the series by 6 wickets.

The second game was also abandoned due to heavy rains at the same venue.
