Usman Tariq produced a stunning debut performance, bagging a three-wicket haul to lead Pakistan to a 32-run victory over the United States of America in their T20 World Cup 2026 clash at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
The 28-year-old spinner returned brilliant figures of 3/27 to help restrict the USA to 158/8 in their pursuit of a daunting 191.
Despite the mounting pressure, Shubham Ranjane continued his stellar form, smashing a gutsy 51 off just 30 balls.
Earlier in the match, Sahibzada Farhan’s blistering 73 off 41 had steered Pakistan to a formidable 190/9.
While Pakistan appeared on course to break the 200-run barrier, a spectacular collapse-losing five wickets in the space of just 10 balls-denied them a total beyond that milestone.
Shadley van Schalkwyk was the standout bowler for the USA, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/25 and taking his tournament tally to seven wickets.
