Oman won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sri Lanka in a Group B encounter of the 2026 T20 World Cup at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy.
Sri Lanka have made one change to the playing XI with Dushan Hemantha coming in place of injured Wanindu Hasaranga. Hasaranga was ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury which he sustained during the opening World Cup game against Ireland on February 08. Sri Lanka won the game by 20 runs.
At the toss Skipper Dasun Shanaka confirmed Hemantha will replace Hasaranga in the playing XI. He said hopes the Pallekele deck will be a faster one than the one used in the previous game.
Meanwhile, Oman skipper Jatinder Singh said he wants his side to use the moisture and exploit the conditions.
‘We don’t get opportunity to play with Test playing nations, so this is a golden opportunity,’ he added.
