New Zealanders edge past Sri Lanka Tuskers 27-16 in Colombo

The New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby team defeated Sri Lanka Tuskers 27-16 in the opening game of the two-match series at the Racecourse International Rugby Stadium in Colombo this evening (25).
The Tuskers played some exceptional rugby and scored two tries against the formidable New Zealand side.
Akash Madushanka and Janindu Dilshan scored tries for the Tuskers while Thenuka Nanayakkara converted two penalties.
The New Zealanders scored three tries despite initially struggling to cope with Sri Lanka’s surprise attack and defensive display.
The New Zealanders led 16-13 at lemons.
Meanwhile, the second game of the series will be played at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium in Kandy on May 3.
