Former All Blacks Captain Kieran Read arrives in Sri Lanka

Former New Zealand national rugby union team captain Kieran Read has arrived in Sri Lanka.

One of the most capped players in the history of the All Blacks, Read travelled from Melbourne to Colombo with SriLankan Airlines as part of the New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby Team Tour 2026. 

SriLankan Airlines also extended its best wishes for a memorable stay in Sri Lanka, both on and off the field.

The New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby Team is currently touring Sri Lanka for a two-match series.

In the opening game of the series, New Zealanders defeated Sri Lanka Tuskers 27-16 at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo on Saturday. 

The second and final game of the series is scheduled to be held at the Nittawela Stadium in Colombo on May 3.
