Sri Lanka fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara was reprimanded for his aggressive send-off to Luke Ronchi during the seventh One-Day International against New Zealand in Wellington on Thursday.
Kulasekara, who recorded figures of two for 55 in nine overs, changed direction and ran towards Ronchi upon the dismissal during the 34-run consolation win for the visitors.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Chris Gaffaney and Rod Tucker, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Derek Walker.
As per an ICC statement, "Kulasekara admitted to a breach of Article 2.1.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel."
As Kulasekara was guilty of the behavior and accepted the reprimand, there was no need for an official hearing.
Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga who was out of action due to an ankle injury, is expected to return for Sri Lanka’s warm-up game against South Africa on 9th February.
New Zealand won the seven match series 4-2.
