The 2018 Schools Rugby League, which was suspended following a series of clashes during recent matches, will continue from next week, Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapha said.

On Wednesday (23), it was announced that the tournament will be halted following clashes which took place during previous matches.

Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government & Sports Faiszer Musthapha had ordered to postpone the remaining matches while instructing the Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Society to not permit any referees for the schools rugby games.

The games involving Wesley College Vs Royal College, Maliyadeva College Vs St. Thomas’ College, D. S. Senanayake Vs Science College were interrupted by fans as games ended up in an unruly manner last week.
