Sri Lanka won the toss and will bat first in the second test against New Zealand at P. Sara Oval in Colombo.

The Blackcaps have made one change, with allrounder Colin de Grandhomme in for Mitchell Santner.

For the hosts Dilruwan Perera replaces Akila Dananjaya, who was reported for a suspect bowling action in the first test along with NZ captain Kane Williamson.

The day got off to a shaky beginning, with heavy downpours in Colombo delaying the start of play.

While the rain eased to a drizzle, the opening session of play was lost due to a sodden outfield at P Sara Stadium.

Heavy rain warnings have been in place for nearby parts of the country and the radar suggests there’s plenty more to come.

New Zealand lost the first test in Galle by six wickets.
