Kusal Janith Perera tests Covid-19 positive

Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Janith Perera has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19.

He was found to be positive during a PCR test which was carried out on the players yesterday (15). 

Following the detection, Perera is undergoing due medical protocols pertaining to Covid–19, the SLC said. 

The former captain and wicketkeeper-batsman is part of the Sri Lanka squad scheduled to play the series against the South Africa team, that will be visiting Sri Lanka in September. 

Perera had been ruled out of the entire limited overs series against India due to an injury. 

Perera was the captain of the Sri Lankan team in England, however he was replaced by Dasun Shanaka for the series against India.
