  England, after losing the toss, were bowled out for 298 in their first innings by Sri Lanka on the second day of the first Test at Headingley on Friday.

Jonathan Bairstow top-scored with 140 in an innings where opener Alex Hales made a Test-best 86.

Steven Finn was last man out, stumped off Rangana Herath for 17.

Debutant medium-pacer Dasun Shanaka took three for 46 and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera three for 46.

This is the first of a three-Test series.
