‘High School Musical 3’ actor Matt Prokop arrested on alleged child pornography charges

Former teen actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas and is currently being held without bail following multiple charges, including alleged possession of child pornography.
According to TMZ, Matt was taken into custody on Christmas Eve in Victoria County, Texas. Local law enforcement confirmed he remains in the county jail and is also facing a charge of resisting arrest.
His arrest reportedly stems from an alleged violation of bond conditions tied to a previous case, per local outlet Crossroads
Those bond conditions were connected to a May 2024 arrest in which Matt was charged with aggravated assault, as well as resisting arrest. Specific details regarding how he allegedly violated the bond have not been made public.
Matt is best known for his role in High School Musical 3. He also previously dated Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, who obtained a restraining order against him after alleging verbal and physical abuse. He was ordered to stay away from the actress for three years.
In 2024, Modern Family’s Julie Bowen spoke about helping Sarah, who played her on-screen daughter, leave the abusive relationship.
