Popular author Irene Siriwardena passes away

Award winning author Irene Siriwardena passed away at the age of 87.
A former Principal of Nugegoda Samudradevi Balika Girls School and Visaka Vidyalaya, Siriwardena was the author of books such as Ahasin Polowata, Weralin Sayurata, Katharin Etharata, Kshema Bhumiya and Balan Harima Kadathurwa.
The wife of the late Administrative Officer Deshamanya D. B. I. P. S. Siriwardena, she was was also a presidential award winner.
The funeral will reportedly take place in Borella on Sunday (24).
