Leading British actor Idris Elba proved that age is no barrier after winning his first professional kickboxing bout in London on Saturday.

The Wire star’s debut was filmed by pop diva Madonna at ringside as the 44-year-old achieved his lifelong ambition as part of the Discovery Channel’s documentary ‘Fighter.’

Elba, who is believed to be in line to be the next James Bond, traveled around the world to develop his kickboxing skills for the show which will air in 2017.

“It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to fight professionally,” Elba said during the filming of Fighter.
“Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time.”

During filming for the show, Elba visited Thailand to train alongside famed welterweight fighter Buakaw Banchamek.
