Former LTTE cadre Gunasingham Kasendran, considered the tallest man in Sri Lanka, was brought to Colombo on the request of Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, to be given an opportunity to play for the national basketball team. Standing at a staggering 7’ 3’ he had undergone the government rehabilitation program for ex-LTTE combatants at the rehabilitation centre in Kandakadu in the Polonnaruwa District.
