Binara Poya at Kelaniya…

Buddhist devotees engage in various religious observances at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara today (19) in view of Binara Full Moon Poya Day. Binara Poya marks the beginning of the Vas season in which Bhikkhus retreat to temples and engage themselves in numerous activities including conducting Dhamma sermons, Dhamma discourses and meditation. The most significant event that happened on Binara Poya Day was the establishment of Bhikkuni Order.
