Hazardous pepper manufacture halted…

A lawsuit has been filed against 03 persons drying a large quantity of pepper seeds in a manner unsafe for human consumption by officials of the Health Ministry in Hambantota.
  
It has been reported that the accused parties were drying pepper seeds on the side of a main road causing the seeds to be hazardous for human health.
The Hambantota police have reported that the three individuals residing in Kolonnawa had journeyed to Mirijjawila in Hambantota as the Kolonnawa area was plagued with rainfall creating a difficult environment to dry the pepper seeds. 

Officials from the Ministry of Health along with the Police have confiscated 1000kg of pepper seeds and will produce the confiscated goods to the Hambantota Magistrate court.
