International Yoga Day 2023…

Sri Lankan people performed yoga to mark the International Yoga Day at Independence square in Colombo, on Saturday (June 17). The yoga event was organized by the Indian High Commission in Colombo and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) – the cultural arm of the High Commission – in collaboration with various yoga institutes.
The event saw the participation of nearly a thousand people including the special invitees such as Dr. Susil Premajayantha, the Education Minister; Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, the Transport & Highways and Mass Media Minister; Ali Sabry, Foreign Affairs Minister; Sisira Jayakody, the State Minister of Indigenous Medicine; A. Aravindh Kumar, the State Minister of Education, Dr. Suren Raghavan, the State Minister of Higher Education. In addition, Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, officials and staff of the High Commission, students, police personnel, members of the Indian community and yoga enthusiasts in Sri Lanka too were in attendance.
