President participates in Kataragama Esala Perahera…

President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the historic Kataragama shrine to participate in the final day of the Kataragama annual Esala Maha Perahera and actively participated in religious rites yesterday (July 03). He then joined the religious rites conducted at the Kiriwehera Seya and received blessings.

He had the honour of placing the casket on the ceremonial elephant, Kandula, symbolizing the commencement of the Perahara. Additionally, President Wickremesinghe also sought blessings at the Kataragama Saman Maha Devalaya.
