Army Chief felicitates Asian Women’s Champs…

The Army Chief Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage has commended the players of the Asian Women’s Cricket Championship team who serve in Sri Lanka Army with incentives.

Accordingly, financial incentives were presented to members of the Sri Lanka Army Cricket team who played a key role in securing victory at the Asian Women’s Cricket Championship at Army Headquarters. The awardees included Sergeant D.M.S.M.K. Dasanayake, Sergeant Sugandika Kumari, Sergeant Nilakshi de Silva, and Lance Corporal Anushka Sanjeewani.

The Army Chief, who extended his congratulations to the players for their commendable achievement and praised their dedication and performance throughout the tournament, also highlighted the need for improved facilities to support the development of female cricketers and expressed his commitment to future success that will enhance the recognition of both the nation and the Army.
