Navam Perahera…

The 46th Navam Maha Perahera of the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple in Colombo kicked off on Tuesday (Feb.11) under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe placing the sacred casket on the ceremonial elephant, symbolizing the start of the procession. 

A large number of traditional dancers, drummers, elephants and other performers participated in the Navam Perahera festival.
